Research Fellow

£25,888 pa

Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months

You will be performing studies to investigate the mechanisms that promote
calcification and arteriosclerosis in people with kidney disease. The research
will be
particularly concentrating on the role of inflammation and interaction with the
D hormonal system. You will be required to collect, catalogue and analyse
samples of
human artery as well as analyse and present research findings.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in biology, biomedical science, molecular
biology or a related subject and will have working knowledge of tissue culture.
Familiarity with the use of a wide range of molecular biology techniques such as
most RNA and DNA techniques along with protein analysis and immunohistochemistry
is essential. Previous experience in vascular biology and the ability to design
and execute experimental protocols is desirable. Due to the nature of the
project, you may be required to work weekends.
